Little known and visited, only by small groups of university students and their instructors over the last century or so, Botanical Beach and the Field Station established there by the University of Minnesota at the beginning of the 20th century was the subject of a photo essay by Erik Moore and Rebecca Toov in a recent issue of BC Studies (Autumn 2015, no. 187, “These Outer Shores”).

This story has now been summarized in Hakai Magazine and the associated video, filmed during a recent University of Washington class visit, offers a rich and evocative introduction to this remote and storied BC Place.
