Duncan McLaren and Daryl Fedje, contributors to our upcoming special issue (Fall 2015) on the archaeology of coastal BC, have made the news by discovering a set of twelve footprints made on a muddy shoreline on Calvert Island on Queen Charlotte Sound thousands of years ago. “If the impressions are conclusively dated to 13,200 years ago,” notes Heather Pringle, “they will be the oldest known human footprints in North America.” For more see: http://www.hakaimagazine.com/article-long/time-travelers
