Joan N. Fraser is Public Services Librarian, Law Library, University of Victoria.
Jeremy Mouat is a doctoral student at the University of British Columbia and a member of the editorial collective that produced Working Lives (Vancouver: New Star Books, 1985). His major research interests are mining history and the comparative study of the “settler dominions.”
